THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS

"To the Law and to the Testimonies, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no truth in them." Yashayah (Isaiah) 8:20.

Between Judaism, Messianism and Christianity, there exist a schism and profound rift and herein the masses are misled. On one hand, our Christian friend propounded the doctrine of grace to denounce the Law, on the other hand both Judaism and Messianism insisted that the law is to our Salvation. Put it squarely, Christianity rejected the Torah by their "save by grace"doctrine as a "for all and cure all" while Judaism rejected YaHVaHshooa as their Mashiyach or Salvation. Both are lacking and both have erred. For the law without the testimonies of YaHVaHshooa is not complete and vice versa.  In short, one has the law while rejecting the prophets and the testimonies of YaHVaHShooa and the other, while professing to have salvation in a false name--a false sense of salvation--rejected the law which they broke and has cursed them.

To understand the misconception of the Law and "grace" we must go back to Scriptures and understand what is the Law and what is the Testimonies of YaHVaHShooa.

The law and the testimonies are inseparable to man's Salvation. The Law or Torah as it is known in the Jewish and Messianic Community , is none other then the Ten Commandments of YaHVaH given to Moshe at Mount Sinai, first written with His own fingers on two tablet of stone and was placed in the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle. It is this law that man has broken, thus bringing them under it's curse. "Sin is the transgression of the Law..." Yachanan Aleph 3:4. Hence, the need for Salvation.

This law was given at Sinai to Moshe and for this reason many had erroneously believe that this Law existed after Moshe and has been labelled Mosaic Law. Wrong!  This law is called the Royal Law of Liberty by the Apostle Yaacov, wherein if any man breaks one he breaks all. see Yaacov 2:8-10. This is the same Law that YaHVaHShooa Ha MASHIYACH when asked, "which is the great commandment in the Law," said, Thou shalt love YaHVaH thy Elohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the great and first commandment. The second is like this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. In these two commandments all the law is contained, and the prophets." Mattithias 22:36-40. This Law is the same Law YaHVaHShooa Ha MASHIYACH said, "Think not that I am come to do away with the Law and the Prophet, I am not come to do away but to fulfilled. For verily I say unto you, until heaven and earth shall pass away, one least letter or one point may in nowise pass away from the law till all be accomplished" Mattithias 5:17, 18. That was indeed a very powerful statement in defence of the Law.

It defines the reign of the law.

So who said the Law was given to Moshe and existed after Moshe and is done away with when grace came? Looking at the Law closely, it governs our relationship with YaHVaH and with our neighbor--one another. In the word of YaHVaHShooa, the first and greatest commandment is to love YaHVaH with all our hearts, souls and minds and the second is to love our neighbor as ourself. Tis, in effect is about relationship; how we treat each other; how we deal with each other? That being the case, who says the law was from Moshe? Let us go back to scripture to see when the law begins.

In Bereshith 2:1-3 we read, "Thus were finished the heavens and the earth and all their host. Thus Elohim--Father and His Beloved Son--finished on the Seventh day His work which He had made, and rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And ELOHIM blessed the Seventh day, and hallowed it, because therein rested He from all His work which Elohim by creating had made. Let us examine these scriptures by portion. From these verses we found:

1. YaHVaH ELOHIM finish His work of creation and rest on the Seventh day--no work need be done any more.

2. His creation entails heaven and earth and all their host.

3. YaHVaH hallowed the seventh day and blessed it.

In the Ten Commandments, the fourth is a command to keep this day Kodesh for the same reason and also for the same domain--heaven and earth. In other word, the Shabath commandment was there from the beginning, right after creation and it applied to a domain called heaven and earth.

Wow! Did you see this Shabath Commandment is applicable in Heaven as well, not just the earth, or for earthlings. So who said, the Shabath is for the Jews only. In heaven, YaHVaH, our Abba is worshipped every Shabat from the beginning.

Let me give you another scripture to substantiate the truth of the Law. Let us turn to Yashayah 66:22-23.

"For as the new heavens and the new earth which I am about to make are to remain before Me, declareth YaHVaH, so shall remain your seed and your name. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one shabath to another shall all flesh come in to bow down before Me, saith YaHVaH." Notice heavens here is plural suggesting the entire universe. So in the new Universe, including planet earth, all flesh shall come to worship YaHVaH on His Shabath. Did the scripture contradict itself when it said the Law of YaHVaH is eternal? No!

The law of Ten Commandment is a Universal law of liberty to guide us in our relationship with our Elohim and with one another based on LOVE. As long as we observe it, we are free. The moment we break it, breaking one is breaking all as they are all based on love, the offender falls under and is cursed by the law. Sin is the trangression of the law, Yahanan Aleph 3:4 and the penalty of sin is death, Romiyah 6:23.

For this reason, the promised Mashiyach must come and take the place of sinful man in death, the trangressors of the law. The promised Mashiyach was foretold in the prophets, Testified by those who had seen Him, heard Him and saved by Him, hence the law and the prophets are inseparable.

Similarly, the Prophets are also referred to as The Testimonies of YaHVaHShooa and the Spirit of Prophecy, as we read in Gilyahna 12:17, the remnants have both of these, Gilyahna 14:12, the Kodeshim have both of these and in Gilyahna 19:10 the messengers in heaven have both of these.

Gilyahna 12:17. And the dragon was angered againt the woman, and went away to make war with the remnant of her seed, who were keeping the Commandments of YaHVaH and have the testimonies of YaHVaHShooa.

Gilyahna 14:12. Here is the endurance of the Kodeshim, they who keep the Commandments of YaHVaH and the belief of YaHVaHShooa.

Gilyahna 19:10. And I fell down at his feet to do him homage; and he saith unto me, See! thou do it not! A fellow-servant am I, of thee and of thy brethren who have the testimonies of YaHVaHShooa: Unto YaHVaH do homage! For the testimonies of YaHVaHShooa is the Spirit of Prophecy.

Is there any wonder why YaHVaHShooa said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law and the Prophets, I am not come to destroy but to fulfill, verily I saith unto you, till heaven and earth pass away one least letter or one point of of the law shall in nowise pass away from the law till all be accomplished. Mattithias 5:17. The law and the prophets are forever, one without the other is not complete. The law is the Ten Commandments, the prophets is the testimonies of YaHVaHShooa, is the belief of YaHVaHShooa, the doctrine of the Father, is the Spirit of Prophecy.

Grace on the other hand is artificial.  It was coined by Christian Theologians to assert their rights to the gift of ELOHIM by a false Mashiyach.  There is no grace but the "Favor" of YaHVaH.  Daniel was favored and so was Mary when they saw Gabriel, they were told so.  So were all the prophets, Avraham, Yitshak, and Ya'acov, Yoseph, Moshe and Davi.  YaHVaH is full of mercy and forgiving iniquity.  He has mercy on all His fallen children.  Only those who come to YaHVaHShooa could get back into His favor because He is the one in Whom YaHVaH is well pleased..

When a man breaks the law of YaHVaH, the Ten Commandments, he sinned and he is removed from the favor of YaHVaH.  YaHVaH hates sins and rebellion or disobedience.  But He loves His creature even when they sinned or go against Him.  Sin removes the favor of YaHVaH from the sinner.  The only way the sinner could come back to YaHVaH is by YaHVaHShooa Who said, "I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life, No man cometh unto the Father but by Me."  Yachanan 14:6.  This is a very powerful statement. No man can come to the Father by himself, just as no man had seen the Father because no man has found favor with the Father as all have sinned and come short of the glory of the Father. Romiyah 3:23.  For that reason, YaHVaHShooa came and paid the price for sins and redeemed man from the curse of the law--that is the past, and present, not future. After being delivered, shall we continue to transgress?  Definitely not!  We are delivered from sin to obedience, not sin to sin or disobedience.  That is where Christianity missed out; that is where Christianity errred!   Therefore, the Kodeshim (Set Apart Ones), are those who keep the comandment of YaHVaH and have the belief or testimonies of YaHVaHShooa, one without the other is lacking.

The law as we know is the Ten Commandments, also called the Royal Law of Liberty.  It is the constitution of the entire Universe.  It governs our relationship with YaHVaH and with one another based on love.  Would one have any other Elohim besides YaHVaH when one loves YaHVaH with all his heart, soul and might? No!  Would one make any graven images of things in heaven, on earth or under the sea, serve them, or bow down to them when one loves YaHVaH with all his heart, soul and might?  No!  Would one utter the name of YaHVaH with falsehood when he loves YaHVaH with all heart, soul and might? No!  Could anyone break YaHVaH's Shabath and observe Sunday the day that is opposed to His Shabath and observe Sunday, the pagan day of sun worship instead, when he loves YaHVaH with all his heart, soul and might?  No!  Could one love his neighbor as himself when he steals from his neighbor, murder or defile his neighbor's wife?  No!  It is based on love.  "Thou shalt love YaHVaH thy ELohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might and thy neighbor as thyself. Upon these two hangs the Law and the prophets."

Therefore, the Kodeshim (Set Apart Ones), are those who keep the comandment of YaHVaH and have the belief or testimony of YaHVaHShooa, one without the other is lacking,or not whole.

Because of sin, the Law must include the prophet. The law without the prophet is not enough. So what is the prophet. The prophet bears testimonies of the Deliverer, YaHVaHShooa Ha Mashiyach, Who must come as a Lamb of YaHVaH to take away the sins of the world. In Bereshith 3:15, YaHVaH by his own mouth made that testimony, "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her Seed, He shall crush thy head and thou shall crush His heel. That Seed is none other than the promised Mashiyach, YaHVaHShooa. Avraham knew Him, So does Moshe and King Da'vi. YaHVaHShooa said to the Jews that your father Avraham long to see my days. Moshe said, a prophet like myself shall YaHVaH raise unto you, shema Him. Following All the prophets like Yashayah, Yeremeyah, Yechezkel, Danyel, until Malachi predicted His coming to suffer and to die for our sins.

In short, the prophets bore testimonies of YaHVaHShooa as our Redeemer and Deliverer. Because man has fallen into sin by breaking the Kadosh Torah of YaHVaH, a way must be found to save or redeem him. In the fulness of time, YaHVaH sent forth His Son, born of woman... He too bear testimonies of sin, righteousness and judgement and He die, was buried and rose again to be our advocate before our Father. By faith in Him fallen man could be immersed with the Ruach from above and transformed to live in accordance with His Kadosh Torah which before he cannot. Before YaHVaHShooa came into your life, keeping the Torah is but a burden. It has become a curse because it has been broken. But when He immersed you with the RUACH of YaHVaH, He writes His Torah in your heart so that you do not need to teach one another, "come keep the Torah, but every man will keep it as they are written in His heart." This is the testimonies of YaHVaHShooa. If you don't have it, keeping the Torah cannot save you. But you could get it from YaHVaHShooa Ha Mashiyach. "Here is the patient of the Kidushim, here are they that keep the Commandments of YaHVaH and have the testimonies of YaHVaHShooa Ha Mashiyach.  The testimonies of YaHVaHShooa is the belief of YaHVaHShooa, is the Spirit of Prophecy...

Now if any man come and teach you that you could find favor with YaHVaH Elohim by keeping the Torah alone, or conversely, any man would teach you that "grace" doctrine or the false Mashiyach with a false name could bring you salvation or the favor of YaHVaH, he is fulfilling Yashayah 8:20, "To the Law and to the testimonies, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no truth in them."
